With all of the complexities of 2020 and carrying twins, all I wanted was a little simplicity in my life. Ya know? Lately I find myself wanting to sing the first verse of Lauryn Hill’s Ex-Factor to people that seem intent on making things difficult.
“It could all be so simple, but you’d rather make it hard.”
Nothing to do with exes, but everyday situations at work, home, wherever. We like to put an edge on things that could be pretty straightforward. For what? Life is hard enough right now without adding drama and putting extra pressure on ourselves. I’m not talking about societal concerns and understanding how critical the election is. I’m referring to our day-to-day interactions with people that we interact with often. Be kind to yourself and go easy on others. We’re all just trying to get through this crazy time.
